What children practise
- Reading notes on the treble stave (lines + spaces).
- Letter names A–G (forming real words).
- Pitch memory: correct notes play as they’re entered.
- Self-correction: mistakes show the correct position.
How to run it
- Invite children up, or run it as a whole-class teachable moment.
- They look for the note under the arrow, then choose a letter tile.
- Press Enter note to submit the chosen letter.
- Use Difficulty for practice lengths (3–7) or Challenge for progression.
Hints tip
- Use Show hints once first: children see letters “written onto” the stave.
- Then turn hints off and ask: “Which line/space is that note?”
- Use hints-on only if the class is stuck.
Teacher tip
Great idea to turn Show hints on.
